The National Payment Corporation of Viet Nam last week said it would work with seven banks to introduce domestic credit chip cards with unified standards to limit cash payments and tackle black credit.
Fifty million of the 132 million bank cards issued in the country are not in use, causing an enormous waste of resources, the Viet Nam Bank Card Association has said.
The Viet Nam Bank Card Association''s report says that 68.55 million bank
cards were in use in the Vietnamese market at the end of the first
quarter of 2014.
